Yeah, I can so relate to this story on so many levels - and especially the last line "it felt like home." I was also born in the Bronx, married to a Peruvian I met while filming a documentary in a remote town in the Andes 25 years ago, been back to Peru so many times and it feels more like home than almost anywhere else in the USA (except for NYC, though I don't live there anymore).

Appreciate you reading, Mitch! Many parallels it seems, I'm glad you dug it.

About halfway through - its terrific. You have a new fan. My last full-time gig was marketing director/author talk host of an independent bookstore in Bloomington, IN (Morgenstern's). Left to make another doc, but wish I was still there now --would've found a way to bring you :) You know The Bronx Music Hall? Elena Martinez and Bobby Sanabria who program music are friends of mine. Just wrote to Elena, shared link to your. book
